Position

Assistant Manager – IT Application Operations

Location

Islamabad, Pakistan

About the Role

Transworld is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the operations of our critical business applications. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless performance, proactive issue resolution, and alignment with high development standards across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resource Management: Strategically organize and allocate resources to maintain uninterrupted operations of business-critical applications, supported by proactive alerting mechanisms.

  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues, from moderate to complex, across GPON, Corporate CRM, and POS systems.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement proactive measures to identify and resolve potential issues, while maintaining compliance with development standards and fostering cross-functional collaboration.

  • System Performance: Oversee system housekeeping activities to maximize application availability and optimize performance.

  • Operational Documentation: Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive operational documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Release Management: Coordinate the smooth rollout of new functionalities, ensuring strict adherence to established change management protocols.

  • Operational Planning: Execute operational plans that align with the organization’s strategic objectives.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough pre-production, post-production, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to uphold release quality.

  • Patch Management: Supervise the deployment of releases and patches, incorporating impact assessments and risk mitigation.

  • Business Continuity: Support the development and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan to safeguard operations.

  • Incident Coordination: Manage system outages and communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Compliance Oversight: Enforce security and audit compliance through well-defined policy controls, SOPs, and continuous audit preparedness.

Core Skills and Expertise

  • Proficiency in SQL and data analytics tools or product analytics platforms.

  • Ability to bridge business requirements with robust IT solutions.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities grounded in a data-driven mindset.

  • Excellent communication skills and experience in managing diverse stakeholder groups.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT Application Operations, Level 2 IT Support, or digital transformation within the telecom industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of databases, IT application deployment processes, and audit compliance standards.
